Among a number of new primary schools to open in Perth this year, the $20.3 million Treeby Primary School will cater for a growing population in the city’s south.

Designed to accommodate 540 students from kindergarten to Year 6, Treeby Primary School features a number of single storey buildings with a total gross floor area of almost 6,000m².

Construction works commenced on site in 2020. Perth-based mechanical services contractor, Associated Airconditioning, was engaged to provide air conditioning and ventilation on the project.

Having developed a long-term working relationship with Associated Airconditioning over many years, Systemaire was invited to quote on the supply of suitable fans and equipment.

Systemaire presented a number of equipment selection options to Associated Airconditioning that achieved energy efficiency and cost savings, while meeting project specifications.

Equipment supplied for the project included TD Silent, Mixvent, Whisper Jet and Vogue fans as well as Alpha Relief vents that were all used across a number of spaces. Powerline in-line mixed flow fans were supplied for the school’s library, covered assembly space, and teaching blocks. GL Gamma Series exhaust fans developed for bushfire prone regions, were selected for their bushfire code compliance.

With energy efficiency an important factor in the equipment selection process, Systemaire was able to demonstrate each product’s compliance to the 2019 National Construction Code (NCC) Section J.
